1. About these terms
1.1 Legally Sorted is a business name of Corporate Legal Pty Ltd (ABN 52 640 661 847) (we, us, our). These terms apply when you buy a DIY document (DIY Document). You means the person or entity named at checkout.
1.2 You accept these terms by ticking the acceptance box and clicking "Pay and generate" at checkout. You agree that these terms and our communications may be electronic.
2. What a DIY Document is
2.1 A DIY Document is a template prepared for New South Wales use and completed automatically from the answers you give in our online form. It is generated by our platform, which uses automated drafting tools.
2.2 Buying a DIY Document does not mean a solicitor is acting for you. We do not review your answers or the completed document, do not check that the document suits your circumstances, and do not give you legal, tax or financial advice. The guidance notes on our site, and any guide supplied with a DIY Document, are general information only.
2.3 You are responsible for choosing the right document, giving accurate answers, reading the completed document carefully, and making sure it is signed and, where needed, witnessed, stamped or registered correctly.
2.4 If you would like a solicitor to review your document, you may upgrade to Solicitor-checked within 30 days after your DIY Document is delivered, using the link on your order page. You can check and change your answers before you upgrade. The price you paid for the DIY Document is credited against the Solicitor-checked fee, and you pay the difference. That service is provided under our separate costs disclosure and fee terms, which apply to the full Solicitor-checked fee. If you cancel the upgrade after the solicitor has started the review, the share of the fee we keep is worked out on the difference you pay, not the full fee.
3. Price and payment
3.1 The price is the fixed price shown at checkout and includes GST. There are no other charges.
3.2 At checkout you authorise us to charge your card. Your card is charged when your DIY Document is generated and delivered to you, together with your tax invoice.
3.3 To the extent the supply of a DIY Document is a legal service under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (NSW), the price is a fixed fee, the price is below the amount for which costs disclosure is required, and you keep your rights under that law, including to ask for an itemised bill within 30 days after payment and to raise a costs concern with the Office of the Legal Services Commissioner (NSW) or by costs assessment.
4. Delivery and use
4.1 We deliver your DIY Document by download and email straight after payment. If delivery fails, contact us and we will resend it.
4.2 We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use, edit and copy the DIY Document for your own personal or business purposes. You must not resell, publish or share our templates or use them to provide documents to others.
4.3 Our documents are prepared for the law of New South Wales and the Commonwealth as at the date shown on the document. They may not suit other States or Territories, and laws change. Check that the document is still current before you use it again later.
5. Refunds and errors
5.1 Because a DIY Document is generated and delivered immediately, we do not give refunds for change of mind once it has been generated.
5.2 If the DIY Document does not reflect the answers you gave, or the platform fails, tell us within 30 days and we will fix it, regenerate it or refund the price.
6. Consumer guarantees and liability
6.1 Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees or any other right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
6.2 Subject to clause 6.1, we are not responsible for loss caused by incorrect or incomplete answers you give, by your choice of document or options, or by using the DIY Document for a purpose or in a place it was not designed for.
6.3 Subject to clause 6.1 and to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit or opportunity.
6.4 Liability limited by a scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation.
7. Privacy
7.1 We handle the personal information you give us under our privacy policy at legallysorted.com.au. We use your answers only to generate your document, provide our services and meet our legal obligations. Our platform and service providers may store information in cloud systems, including outside Australia, as our privacy policy explains.
8. Concerns and general
8.1 If you have a concern, contact us through the contact form at legallysorted.com.au and we will respond within 10 Business Days.
8.2 These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales.
8.3 We may update these terms for future purchases. A change does not affect a purchase already made.
